Ratification by the Board of Education of a Professional Services Contract between the District and Oakland Promise, Oakland, CA, for the latter to support successful high school readiness for pupils and for family engagement, specifically to help rising 6th graders transition out of elementary into Roosevelt - support recruitment strategies, 6th grade orientation, parent communications (talking points, school messenger, website); to help rising 8th graders transition successfully out of Roosevelt into high school by supporting the following initiatives; coordinate Decision Day, HS and college awareness activities, Classroom workshops, Advisory lessons, College/resource fair/College tour; and work with grade level teams to help implement each grade’s specific 21st century skill: 6th grade - Work Habits, 7th grade - Collaboration, 8th grade - Communication/ Advocacy, recruit 20 students into AIM High, via Community Schools and Student Services Department, for the period of September 3, 2019 through June 30, 2020, in an amount not to exceed $15,000.00.
