Approval by the Board of Education of a Professional Services Agreement 2020-2021 between the District and East Bay Asian Youth Center, Oakland, CA, for the latter to provide a school “culture coach” who will assist in the development our school culture plan, reflecting shared values of inclusiveness and responsibility; adjust and implement expectations for recess and other non-academic times during the day, including by developing multiple opportunities for students to develop deeper connections with each other in an online environment; manage minor mediations and train students as conflict managers, recess coaches, and student leaders; assist teachers in developing identity safe classrooms, positive discipline models, and reward structures and implement school wide reward system in alignment with school values, while collaborating with school culture teams at Cleveland Elementary School, for the period of August 30, 2020 through June 4, 2021, in an amount not to exceed $40,000.00.
