Approval by the Board of Education of a Services Agreement 2026-2027 by and between the District and American Association of Yemeni Students and Professionals, Dearborn, MI, for the latter to provide culturally responsive Expanded Learning programming at three elementary schools and one middle school, serving up to 160 students through twice-weekly sessions over a 24-week period, with the program including academic enrichment, literacy support, culturally relevant programming, wellness activities, mentorship, leadership development, and project-based learning opportunities designed to strengthen academic achievement, foster social-emotional development, increase student engagement, and cultivate a strong sense of belonging and community; coordinate a culminating Arab Heritage Month Showcase across all four school sites for up to 200 students, families, and community members to celebrate student learning, culture, and achievements; and organize two enrichment field trips for up to 30 students each, including participation in a SWANA Heritage Day event and a career exploration experience with a local college or industry partner, via Community Schools and Student Services Department, for the period of September 1, 2026 through May 31, 2027 in an amount not to exceed $72,750.00.
